Because all things aside, they're just really good.
"It's a sad, sad story when a mother will teach her daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger".
From Not Ready to Make Nice.
Went home for the show yesterday. I didn't even mind the four hours of driving it took in total. It always takes such a short amount of time to get home because I'm looking forward to something, but it's long on the way back. Especially when Rachel is following you and she gets pulled over because her headlight is out. But then the police officer is pleasant. And you get back at 1AM but it's all okay.
I didn't want to leave though. I wish I could have just gone and slept in my bed.
I can't wait to be home for a long period of time.
I have a job interview next week for the Old Navy on Hghwy 6 for the holiday season.
I need money.
Oh, and I wish I were going to Thespian Convention tomorrow. It was one of the most magical parts of senior year.

What am I doing for Halloween?
And who am I voting for?
And who am I voting for?
I think I'm setting my profile to Friends Only few.
Add me if you haven't!
Add me if you haven't!
It's really cliche but...
I love The Notebook.
The low today was 60 degrees. And it's going to be 57 degree tomorrow night.
And it's October. Does that ever happen in Houston? Probably...I'm just romanticizing Austin.
I don't mind it though.

I don't understand how to help people sometimes.
It's killer.
It's killer.
College, college, college.
I'm worried about money. It's very irrational. I worry about absolutely everything.
But I realized that my meal plan is about to be under 1000 dollars which means I've eaten 400 dollars worth of food in this one month! I think. I'm not exactly sure. So Rachel and I are going to start doing actual food shopping, insteading of just going to the grocery store to pick up cookie dough, soy milk, and candy corn. And I'm only eating the cheap meals at lunch. And we're going to try to start just making lunch. And making dinner at least once a week.
And we got application for Amy's Ice Cream across the street. By application I mean white paper bag. You get the bag and you're supposed to do something creative with it. And I assume after that you get the job. I just want to have spending money.
I did splurge on a bag today. And since Stephanie made me go into the store I named it Stephanie. And it fit my requirements of being bigger than my last bag.
Oh when will it end? NEVER.
So I'm sitting in my room listening to The Beatles, and now the Across the Universe soundtrack. And copying CDs onto iTunes. Because Rachel and Wendy told be to download iTunes and now I'm addicted.
From tomorrow onward the weekend will be glorious.
I don't have to wake up for the 8AM tomorrow b/c my teacher went to a conference so I just have to go to lecture at 9:30. Which I'm completely fine with.
Then Performace at 1:00.
Costume Crew at 3:30.
After I'm thinking I might go to the gym, or maybe just read for lecture.
The Office premieres tomorrow! But I will have to watch it online because Cloud 9 also opens tomorrow! And theatre majors get in free opening night and I MUST save money.
Then hopefully the Mates of State free show. Anuja reserved seven tickets I think.
FRIDAY. ACL. AUSTIN CITY LIMITS.
That means.
Vampire Weekend
Mates of State(again)
Jenny Lewis
The Swell Season
Gogol Bordello
N.E.R.D.
Mars Volta
and everything else that is glorious in this world.
I think thats enough.
PEACE.

God put a smile upon your face.
My house is okay.
But apparently Houston is tow up.
Yeah, I just said that.
Anyway, I wish I could be there just to see what it looks like.
I hope everyone's okay.
Hannah is driving from Houston to see me!
And hopefully school is cancelled on Monday and Tuesday too so that she can stay for awhile and maybe even go to some of my classes.
I don't know how interesting that would be though.
I love when CFISD school gets cancelled. :)
But I hate hurricanes.
If you haven't already write me a letter.
WORD.

I might be home this weekend.
It all depends on Hurrican Ike.
I would really like to see my Mom and go to Cy-Falls Homecoming Game. Not the dance though.
We will see.
Thursday night-Sunday morning last week were crazy. Barely any sleep. I think I'm finally getting my sleep pattern back though. Not that I slept all that well before anyway.
I'm too tired to write more than this write now.
Peace.

It's been an eventful weekend.
So Friday we left for College Station.
Stephanie, Rachel and I. It wasn't a bad drive except for Google Maps screwing us over and leading us into the back roads of Texas. I swear we would have died on that road. It led into the middle of nowhere and there were wild peacocks and graveyards and one lane bridges. It was a road out of a scary movie. And if you don't know what a one lane bridge is, you will definitely be frightened when you come to one. The two lane road you are on will just change into a one lane road to go under a bridge. So if there is a car coming from the other way you just have to fight to see who is going to go under first. Seriously. And we pretty much saw the Devil in the eyes of a dog outside a graveyard right before the road ended. That's right, the road just ends for a little bit and becomes unpaved. So we called Michael and Jen and they got us to College Station.
I was so happy to see College Station and civilization.
I really like Jennifer's apartment. She has her own room and bathroom. Its cozy and homelike.
Jen, Parker, Rachel, and I went to the Midnight Yell. Which is this thing the Aggies do before their first game every year. They pretty much practice all their yells and lean over(which they call "humping it")and yell things and "whoop", and "hay", and that sort of thing. It was kind of like a cult. Jen didn't really know all the yells either because she didn't go to fishcamp so I wasn't alone in my confusion. Then they turn the lights out and you're supposed to hold up a light and kiss someone. This all happened really fast and I didn't know what was happening.
Next day Hannah came. Oh she got there in record time, seriously like 45 minutes. The game was interesting. You're supposed to stand the whole game and if you sit people will yell at you. I stood the whole first half but couldn't last through second. A&M lost too. Lame. They were winning until the last quarter.
So afterward we went to Freebirds again. You can't visit A&M without going to a Freebird's there. I also think everyone should go to an A&M game once in their life. It was nice to experience it all.
Steph called the next morning and said that she was sick and if I minded coming home and then leaving Monday. And I didn't because I really wanted to see my parents, even though they were in Oregon.
But once I got here I realized I left my keys in Austin!
Saddest moment ever, being right outside my house and not able to get in.
But long story short my parents got back around 1AM and I got to come home and sleep in my bed and now here I am at home, but about to leave for school again.
I'm probably going to miss home even more now, but I think I'm coming back for Homecoming.
Its the same weekend as auditions for Cyrano so I guess we will just have to see what happens.

School is interesting.
Monday and Wednesday I only have Costume/Make-up. My teacher is from the Czech Republic and she has worked with Angelina Jolie apparently. There are only ten of us in the class. We have to work three crew hours a week and 30 in total. So we work with the shows and I'm really excited about that. I forget my sewing kit at home though, LAME. So today I had to go out and buy more. My Dad is sending me my kit though.
Tuesday and Thursday is Rhet/Comp, The Sixties Lecture, and Performance. I love those classes. The Rhet/Comp class goes hand in hand with The Sixties and we have Malcolm X, Feminism, The Things They Carried. Its basically Across the Universe in class form. We listen to a Bob Dylan song(The Times Are A'Changin). Then I have a break. Rachel and I ate outside. We watched people walk across the seal(YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO WALK ACROSS THE SEAL!). Then performance was interesting. My teacher seems good, its going to be a physical class.
Then I napped and Wendy took me to Hancock Fabric(Which was hard to find!). But we saw a lot more of Austin. Austin is so weird. SO WEIRD. But great. So many little shops that you can go to, you'll never go to all of them but you'll try.

Chris came to see me today!
Texas State is only 30 minutes away and he was dropping off his brothers at some friends.
We drove down South Congress to 6th street. Friday and Saturday night it was blocked off but tonight we drove straight down there. It took five minutes literally. There is also this great view of the capital driving down Congress. I still can't believe I live here.
I had Hey Cupcake today! Its this cupcake stand with a huge cupcake on the top.
I'll post pictures later.
Tomorrow is my first day of classes. But I only have one class so I'm not really worried.
Its at ten. I'm going to wake up early to go buy my books though.

So I'm sitting here in Stephanie's dorm.
Her roommate Haley Hunter is moving in right now.
The first night of college was interesting. I got to Austin around one. Carrying everything upstairs was a drag. I live on the top floor which is the third. It was horribly hot and my day was pouring in sweat. He sweats ALOT. I mean drenched. So it didn't take me long to set up my dorm. Then I went to the closest Target that I looked up beforehand so that I would know where I'm going. I got the essentials and then it started pouring. We had to wait for awhile. And when it finally let down and we drove back to St. Ed's and it wasn't raining there AT ALL. WEIRD. I gave my parents a tour of the campus and then said bye to them under the oldest tree on campus. It was really sad. I miss them already. I miss home already.
I went to Steph's dorm and its really cute. Then we met Goldie and some other people and headed over to the luau. This really shy boys name was Anders. There are a lot of people with interesting names. This other boy Steph knew from FaceBook because he is Catholic. lol. Goldie's roommate Jordan(but not pronounced Jordan, its pronounced Jar-den). The luau was sort of lame. There was no food so we ate in the dinning hall (South Congress Market). The food there is delicious. Chicken enchiladas, rice, and beans. I don't know how long I'll be able to eat like this.
After that we went back to the luau and there were fire dancers. So random. A little boy dancing with fire, random. Went back to my dorm and thats when things because unpleasant. I wanted to take my shower(community, ugh) and I was pretty nervous about it. The common room is right across from the showers and there were these guys just lingering there. I didn't want to walk across in my bathrobe but I had to.
And then in the showers I put my clothes and towel right outside the curtain so that I could just reach out and grab when i was done. Then I couldn't get the shower to turn on. But when I did...IT WENT EVERYWHERE. My clothes and towels got completely soaked. Only my bathrobe survived. LAME.
Did I mention my wireless isn't working? And when i try to plug in the ethernet that doesn't work either. I'm going to have to call the IT guy to fix it. I NEED INTERNET.
So I did end up in my room crying by myself for awhile. I think i just miss home. And my friends. The lack of personal space was getting to me. It gives me slight anxiety. I know I will get used to it and I'm going to love college.
This morning I met up with Stephanie and we ate breakfast. Met another theatre major and a girl from Arizona named Lethy. Again, interesting names. We met this girl from our orientation named Nicole and she's hanging out with us. She's really cool.
I met up with Wendy when she got here. But she's in her room now setting up with her room mate. We didn't want to crowd her space. Stephanie's room mate is really nice and her parents are friendly. Her Mom mom is a science teacher but before that she was an interior design major. So they brought all this stuff to decorate. I'm going to steal their idea if they work. lol.
Right now they're setting up her side of the room.
Later there is a BBQ and I think we're going downtown.

But my wireless isn't working so I'm on Steph computer.
She won't let me stay on so I'm getting off.
I'll post a longer blog later.

I leave Houston in about 12-13 hours.
I'm moving to Austin.
I'm really moving to Austin.
I'm ready.
I'm moving to Austin.
I'm really moving to Austin.
I'm ready.
So I just packed my room.
I got home at 12 AM, and now its 130AM about. It took all of about two hours? Rounding. Everybody stared at me when I told them I hadn't started. But I'm really efficient when it comes to packing. Now tomorrow I just have to decide how I'm carrying my shoes. And I'm already planning to just take my clothes off the hangers and lay them in the trunk of whatever car I'm taking. Give or take a couple of clothes that will be folded.
I will need to do a load of laundry from the clothes I wore this week.
And tomorrow night I will pack all the stuff that I use on a daily basis(toothbrush, hairbrush, qtips, etc.).
My desk is now oddly clean. I don't know if I like it. I would like it if I were staying in my room. But I'm not. I think if i have time I'm going to collage pictures for my wall tomorrow. If not I will do that in Austin.
So now I'm just sitting here in my room listening to the New Moon playlist off of Stephenie Meyer's website. Coldplay- The Scientist. My favorite band.
Now that its so close to my leaving date I'm somewhat resisting moving. Maybe thats why I waited last minute to buy my stuff. Maybe thats why I waited until tonight to pack everything.
I'm going to miss home. I'm really going to miss everyone. But I just need to remember that I'm probably going to see everyone in at least two months.
I know I'll adjust.
Even so.

Today was my last day of work.
They offered to give me my job back over Christmas and next summer.
And to transfer me to an Austin store if i want.
Olympic gymnastics finals are on.
Johnathon Horton just won a silver medel.
I drove by his house twice today (he lives in Wortham).
And Shawn Johnson finally got a gold!
Today I bought a crapload of stuff for my dorm, FINALLY.
Everything I buy ends up being pink. Not because I want it that way, just b/c most of the other colors are gone and pink is the cutest thing there.
Anyway, I move in on Friday! Ahh!
